Inside Sales Representative

Location: Granite City, Il; Bath, PA; Wasilla, AK

Position Function:  The Inside Sales Representative describes, demonstrates products and determines needs of new and current customers through telephone contact.  Job typically requires high levels of organizational skills.  Usually reports to the Branch Sales Manager. Inside Sales Representatives may also promote products at trade shows and conferences.  Usually requires 2 to 5 years of inside sales experience.  Aviation and mechanical background desirable.

Inside Sales Representatives are an important part of AERO’s success.  Regardless of the product sold, the primary duties are to interest buyers and purchasing agents in our merchandise, and to address any of the customer’s questions and concerns. 

Essential Functions and Accountabilities: 

  1. Answer incoming sales calls.
  2. Enter customer orders for processing
  3. Will be responsible for supporting Branch Sales Manager.
  4. Will work with customers to develop incremental sales opportunities through the introductions of AERO’s entire product line.
  5. Follow leads (prospect) from other clients and Outside Sales Representatives.
  6. Daily ‘cold calling’ into targeted accounts.
  7. Qualify leads (prospects) via telephone  and e-mail
  8. Obtain new accounts.
  9. Provide excellent customer support in the most efficient manner.
  10. Self maintain, technical and sales proficiency in all product categories ensuring that current and potential customers receive prompt and accurate service.
  11. Respond promptly to all requests from customers for information.
  12. Study Literature about new and existing products and monitor the sales, prices, and products of their competitors.
  13. Exceed goals of sales forecast

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Important attributes of an Inside Sales Representatives include: a pleasing personality, an abundance of energy, goal oriented, persuasive, a sense of responsibility, self reliance, team player and -- of paramount importance -- sales ability.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Ability to meet deadlines and exceed sales goals;

Will need a technical background to deal with aircraft mechanics in selling products;.

Self organized in daily operations and must maintain the ability to budget time through normal activities.

Equipment and Applications:

PCs and various software applications.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

General office environment.  Considerable stress may occur at times.  Occasional travel required.  Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort.  Requires physical effort associated with using a computer to enter orders, access information, or occasional standing, walking lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.

 

Outside Sales Representative

Location: Granite City, Il; Bath, PA; Wasilla, AK

Position Function:  The Outside Sales Representative describes, demonstrates products and determines needs of new and current customers within an assigned territory through face-to-face contact.  Job typically requires high levels of travel. Assists management in devising sales plans and strategies. Usually reports to the Outside Sales Manager.  Sales Representatives may also promote products at trade shows and conferences.

Outside Sales representatives are an important part of AERO’s success.  Regardless of the product sold, the primary duties are to interest buyers and purchasing agents in our merchandise, and to address any of the customer’s questions and concerns. 

Essential Functions and Accountabilities: 

  1. Visit new and existing customers in assigned territories.
  2. Prepare effective sales reports to be funneled through Branch Sales Manager.
  3. Follow leads (prospect) from other clients.
  4. Obtain new accounts.
  5. File expense reports to Branch Sales Manager
  6. Study Literature about new and existing products and monitor the sales, prices, and products of their competitors.
  7. Participate in trade shows and conferences as scheduled by the Trade Show Coordinator
  8. Exceed goals of outside sales forecast
  9. Operate within expense budget guidelines and policies
  10. In conjunction with Branch Sales Manager, coordinate follow-up sales calls.
  11. Because of the fluctuating demands of AERO’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you.  Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
  12. Compliance with Company policies and procedures.

Will need a technical background to deal with aircraft mechanics in selling products.

Outside Sales Representatives will have an assigned territory, and their work includes making appointments, calling on customers and preparing reports on sales prospects. They may also conduct training for customers and develop advertising and promotional packages for new products.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This particular type of sales work may involve a considerable amount of travel.  Depending on the assigned territory, long periods may be spent away from home, or there may be only a few days each month that would require extensive travel.  The time most convenient for the customer might involve night work and travel on weekends.  Sales representatives often are on their feet for long periods and may carry heavy sample products, which necessitates some physical stamina.
