Over the past 70 Years, Lycoming has tested and incorporated many new ideas to maximize cylinder performance and engine reliability. Like improving the casting quality to eliminate porosity, increasing barrel hardness and finish to reduce wear and extend cylinder life, enhancing the cooling characteristics to minimize the risk of thermal shock, and incorporating high quality, long-lasting Ni-Resist exhaust valve guides as a standard.
All cylinder kits come with a nitrided steel barrel (except for the O-235 low compression engines) new aluminum alloy cylinder head, piston, piston pins and plugs, intake and exhaust valves, chrome oil and compression rings, valve springs, valve seats, retaining keys, all gaskets and seals.
Note: All Lycoming require piston pins. Rocker shafts are not needed.
